Former janitor sentenced for putting bodily fluids in school cafeteria food

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.J. (TCN) — A 25-year-old man will spend time behind bars for placing cleansing merchandise and bodily fluids into meals objects at a faculty cafeteria whereas he was employed there as a janitor.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Workplace introduced March 28 {that a} decide sentenced Giovanni Impellizzeri to eight years in New Jersey State Jail with parole eligibility after 5 years served. He beforehand pleaded responsible in January to second-degree official misconduct and third-degree possession of kid sexual abuse materials.

Based on an preliminary affidavit, on Oct. 30, 2023, faculty authorities reached out to New Jersey State Police after receiving a number of recommendations on posts on a social media platform. Impellizzeri reportedly had posted images and video of him “performing sexual acts with inanimate objects on the faculty.”

The defendant allegedly contaminated meals merchandise and utensils on the faculty cafeteria with bleach and bodily fluids, together with saliva, urine, and feces that had been later provided to college students and workers. Authorities stated Impellizzeri additionally positioned bodily fluids on different objects at one other space within the faculty.

Based on prosecutors, throughout the investigation, officers found Impellizzeri possessed baby sexual abuse materials. Earlier than his plea, the defendant was charged in 2023 with a number of counts, together with aggravated assault, tampering with meals merchandise, tried endangering, official misconduct, possession of kid sexual abuse materials, and distribution of kid sexual abuse materials.

In a press release obtained by WPVI-TV, the superintendent of Higher Deerfield Faculty District stated, “What our college students, our workers, and oldsters, and our youngsters needed to endure is unconscionable, and we can not change what occurred.”
